About Sorteo Extraordinario de la Hispanidad

The Sorteo Extraordinario de la Hispanidad is a special Spanish Lotería Nacional draw held around 12 October. Five-digit ticket numbers from 00000–99999 are entered, with a €15 million headline prize available to one décimo.

How It Works
Each full ticket, known as a billete, carries a five-digit number and is divided into ten equal portions called décimos. For the 2026 draw, each décimo costs €15 and the issue contains ten series of 100,000 ticket numbers. The First Prize number pays €130,000 per décimo. One décimo that also matches the selected series and fraction receives an additional €14.87 million, producing a total prize of €15 million. Further prizes are awarded for the Second Prize number, additional digit extractions, approximations, matching hundreds, final digits and reintegros.
Jackpot & Rollover
The Sorteo Extraordinario de la Hispanidad does not have a rolling jackpot. Its prize fund is fixed separately for each annual edition. For the 2026 draw, the First Prize pays €1.3 million per full ticket in each series, equivalent to €130,000 per décimo. One décimo matching the First Prize number together with the selected series and fraction receives an additional €14.87 million, producing a total headline prize of €15 million.

Tax Information

Spanish lottery prizes are generally exempt from tax up to €40,000 per winning décimo. Any portion above this allowance is normally subject to 20% withholding tax, deducted before payment. A €130,000 First Prize décimo would therefore produce an €18,000 deduction and a net payment of €112,000. A €15 million special prize would produce a €2.992 million deduction and a net payment of €12.008 million. Where a décimo is shared, the allowance and taxable prize are divided among the owners according to their respective shares. Non-Spanish residents may also have obligations in their country of residence.
