About Mega Millions

Mega Millions is a multi-state US lottery drawn every Tuesday and Friday. Five Winning Numbers are drawn from 1–70, together with one Mega Ball from a separate set of 1–24.

How It Works
Each standard Mega Millions play consists of five numbers selected from 1–70 and one Mega Ball selected from 1–24. Five Winning Numbers and one Mega Ball are drawn. There are nine prize tiers according to how many Winning Numbers and whether the Mega Ball are matched. Matching all five Winning Numbers plus the Mega Ball wins or shares the jackpot. Every play also includes a randomly assigned 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X multiplier, which applies to all non-jackpot prizes.
Jackpot & Rollover
Mega Millions is a jackpotting lottery with a starting jackpot of US$50 million. If there is no jackpot winner, the jackpot rolls over to the following draw and continues to increase until it is won. The jackpot is won by matching all five Winning Numbers plus the Mega Ball. If more than one entry wins the jackpot, the available jackpot is shared between the winning entries. Jackpot winners can generally choose between an annuity paid over 30 annual payments or a one-time cash option.
