About Mega-Sena
Mega-Sena is Brazil’s principal national lottery, drawn every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Six Winning Numbers are drawn from 1–60, with prizes available for matching four, five or all six numbers.
How It Works
A standard Mega-Sena game consists of six numbers selected from 1–60, although players may select additional numbers at a higher entry cost. Six Winning Numbers are drawn from the same pool. Prizes are awarded across three prize tiers: Sena for matching all six numbers, Quina for matching five and Quadra for matching four. Matching all six Winning Numbers wins or shares the jackpot.
Jackpot & Rollover
Mega-Sena is a jackpotting lottery. If there is no winner matching all six Winning Numbers, the top prize rolls over to the following draw and increases. The jackpot is won by matching all six Winning Numbers, and if more than one entry wins, the available top-prize pool is shared between the winning entries. Part of the Mega-Sena prize fund is also accumulated for special draws, including draws ending in 0 or 5 and the annual Mega da Virada.

Mega-Sena expanded to three weekly draws on 22 August 2023. Draws have since taken place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Largest Regular Mega-Sena Jackpot
Record
The largest jackpot awarded in a regular Mega-Sena draw was approximately R$317.85 million on 1 October 2022. Two winning entries shared the top-prize pool, receiving about R$158.9 million each. This record excludes the annual Mega da Virada draw.
Largest Mega da Virada Prize
Record
The 2025 Mega da Virada awarded a record total top prize of approximately R$1.091 billion. Six winning entries shared the prize, receiving about R$181.89 million each. Operational delays moved the draw from 31 December 2025 to 1 January 2026.
